Do You Have A Metabolic Deficiency?

We hear about metabolism constantly. If someone is skinny, they must have a “fast metabolism.” Or, if someone is heavy, they must have a “slow” metabolism. This tends to be a popular question by so many in a quest to find what will make them skinny or to gain some weight. However metabolism is defined as how well our body processes the foods we eat and the energy it is able to produce. When we start talking about Metabolic Syndrome or a metabolic deficiency, that is where we need to be on higher alert. This is defined as a medical condition where our metabolism is breaking down. Many times you can have metabolic syndrome and not even know it. The primary causes are basic, yet can cause your body’s metabolism to get to a place where you need medicine to manage it. Not good.

Metabolic Syndrome or a Metabolic Deficiency looks like this:

1.High Triglycerides of blood fats over 150
2.High Blood Pressure of 135/85 or higher
3.Waist Size Men 0ver 40”, Women over 35”
4.High Blood Sugar over 105
5.Low Good Cholesterol (HDL) – Men Less Than 40, Women Less Than 50

So if you have 3 out of 5 of these conditions, then you have a serious metabolic deficiency. You are either on medication, or close to being on some. So what do you do?

It’s time to get to work.

Lifestyle is the best medicine in these cases. I will lay out some of the basics. However, some level of coaching would be a great idea. It is tough to walk through and navigate this journey alone.

1.You Eating Matters
The foods that you choose each day will make the greatest impact on your metabolism. To unwind any form of metabolic syndrome you will need whole based foods in equal balance with your proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. The right carbs do matter.

2.Focus On The Fats
You would think that eating fat is what made this condition worse, however the right fats like those found in EFA Matrix, can help to replenish the healthy fats that your body needs. The better fats are found in foods like fish, nuts, and eggs.

3.Cut Out The Sugar
It really is the ingredient that wreaks havoc on our system. Focus to keep total sugar content to less than 30 grams per day.

We are not drinking enough water. The goal is for you to drink half your bodyweight in ounces of pure water daily. Studies have shown that it can help everything from fat loss to high blood pressure.

5.Exercise 5-6 Days Per week
I actually think we should do it 6 days per week. We must move every day at some level. We sit so often now and our bodies are in desperate need of movement. Think about it. Everything on the metabolic checklist can be eliminated by daily exercise.

6.Eat 5-9 Servings of Fruits and Vegetables
